Rhett was completely burned out from scout camp but I was able to talk him into a low key fishing trip to Soldier Creek for the weekend. With all of the scout camps it's been a little hard to plan family camping trips this summer.
We took the kids night fishing. Rhett and I used to go with Kevin Beck when we lived in the Mortuary all of the time. We used to have huge success fishing by the lantern light. Not so much this time, Rhett got a few bites but no takers. We did however catch a lot of crawdads. We set a trap, but they did like the light. They were coming right up to shore. The kids were able to hand pick the size they wanted right out of the water. We cooked them up and had them the next day.
Stella and I went off on a hike by ourselves. Soon the rest of the family got bored and joined us.
The boys were showing off their mad skills with the slings they made at camp.
Bridger doing his Babe Ruth pose.
It was raining the night we wanted to do banana boats. Thanks to my oven in the trailer, they turned out perfect.
Of course these boys are never serious. They got each other laughing so hard over who knows what.
The next day we went sight seeing. Everyone got a good laugh over this sign. You can guess what was said for the next 5 miles of our drive.
We probably saw six sets of does with their fawns, two moms even had twins. It was very sweet. We drove down behind the dam and got this pretty picture.
Coopers least favorite part about camping.
