Viewmont Cross Country Freshman Year

Porter has never been one for team sports. He didn't really love soccer. He liked baseball for awhile but that didn't really stick either. He enjoyed running on the Farmington Jr High track team. He decided he liked running the distance events, the mile and the 800m.  His Freshman year he decided to join the Viewmont High Cross Country team. He has loved it! All through the summer he had to meet at the high school at 7 every morning to train with the team. They run anywhere from 3 to 10 miles everyday.  He has competed in all of the meets, and has done really well. His best friend Dylan Hill does it with him. He amazes me at how hard he works and trains for this. I really am proud of him.

His team had to sign up to help with the Big Cottonwood Marathon. Katie(Dylan's mom) and myself signed up to help with the boys. We had to direct the runners at the split, we also cheered them on. It was an early, cold morning but also so much run being there with Porter.
